Temptation or Attacks of Satan
Job 2:4-7,9-10 “Satan replied, …But stretch out your hand and strike his flesh and bones, and he will surely curse you to your face. The Lord said to Satan, Very well, then, he is in your hands; but you must spare his life. So Satan went out from the presence of the Lord and afflicted Job with painful sores from the soles of his feet to the top of his head… His wife said to him, Are you still holding on to your integrity? Curse God and die! He replied, You are talking like a foolish woman. Shall we accept the good from God, and not trouble? In all this, Job did not sin in what he said.”
Matthew 5:25-26 “Settle matters quickly with your adversary while you are with him on the way, or he may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison. I tell you the truth, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny.”
I Timothy 1:15-16 “Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am foremost. But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his full patience as a pattern for those who would believe on Him and receive eternal life.”
I Thessalonians 3:5 “For this reason… I [Paul] sent to find out about your faith. I was afraid that in some way the tempter might have tempted you and our efforts might have been for nothing.”

Matthew 4:1 “Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the Adversary.”
Hebrews 2:18 “By virtue of his own suffering under temptation He is able to help those who are being tempted.”

C.S. Lewis: "No man knows how bad he is till he has tried very hard to be good. A silly idea is current that good people do not know what temptation means. This is an obvious lie. Only those who try to resist temptation know how strong it is. After all, you find out the strength of the German army by fighting against it, not by giving in. You find out the strength of a wind by trying to walk against it, not by lying down. A man who gives in to temptation after five minutes simply does not know what it would have been like an hour later.”
Hebrews 4:15-16 “For our High Priest is able to sympathize with our infirmities -- He himself has shared fully in all our experience of temptation, except that he never sinned. Let us therefore approach the throne of grace with boldness, that we may be receiving mercy and grace to help in time of need.”

I Peter 5:8-10 “Be self-controlled and vigilant always, for your accuser, the Adversary, is always about, prowling like a lion roaring for its prey, seeking someone to swallow up. Resist him, standing firm/solid in the faith, recalling the sufferings being completed in your fellow-Christians around the world. And after you have born these sufferings a very little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to share his eternal splendor through Christ, will himself make you whole, secure, strong and complete.”

A stone was brought and placed over the mouth of the den, and the king sealed it with his own signet ring and with the rings of his nobles, so that Daniel's situation might not be changed.”

And before they reached the floor of the den, the lions overpowered them and crushed all their bones.”

Let not sin therefore reign as king in your mortal bodies, causing you to be in subjection to their cravings; and no longer lend your mortal body for sin's use, nor the members of your body as implements/weapons of injustice. On the contrary, present your very selves to God as living men who have risen from the dead; and your various faculties to God, to be used as weapons to righteousness.”

II Timothy 4:18 “The Lord will rescue me from every evil attack…”
