Servantship
Philippians 2:1-8 “Now if you have known anything of Christ's encouragement and of his reassuring love; if you have known any fellowship/communion of His Spirit, and of compassion and deep sympathy, fill my joy full -- live together in harmony, be joined in soul as with one mind and spirit between you. Never act according to factions/preferences or with vainglory, but in humility think more of each other than you do of yourselves. None of you should think merely of his own affairs, but each of that for others also. Let your attitude/disposition match that of Christ Jesus Himself. For He, (being in the form of God,) did not rob/pillage to attain equality with God, but stripped/emptied Himself of every advantage by consenting to be a slave, being born a man. And, plainly seen as a human being, He humbled himself by living a life of utter obedience, to the point of death, even death of the cross. That is why God has lifted him to the heights, and has gifted Him the name above every name.”
John 13:12-17 “When He had finished washing their feet, He put on his clothes and returned to His place. Do you understand what I have done for you? he asked them. You call Me 'Teacher' and 'Lord', and rightly so, for that is what I am. Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another's feet. I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you. I tell you the truth, no servant is greater than his master, nor is a messenger greater than the one who sent him. Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them.
Matthew 20:27-28 “…whoever wants to be great must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be the willing slave of all -- like the Son of Man; He did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give up His life as a ransom for many.
John 12:25-26 “The man who is fond of his life will destroy it, while the man who hates his life in this world will be guarding it into life of the ages. Whoever serves Me must follow Me; and where I am, My servant also will be. My Father will honor the one who serves Me.”
Ephesians 5:21 “Be subject to one another in obedience to Christ.”

Oswald Chambers: “It is one thing to go on the lonely way with dignified heroism, but quite another thing if the line mapped out for you by God means being a door-mat under other people's feet.”

Free To Serve
Romans 6:20-22 “When you were slaves to sin, you knew no obligation to righteousness. What fruit did you have from this? Nothing but experiences that now make you blush, since the end of sin is death. Now, however, you have been set free from sin and been enslaved to God, bearing fruit of holiness. The consummation of these things for you becomes eternal life.”
Romans 6:23 “The ration of sin is death. But God gives to those who serve him: his free gift is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Matthew 24:45-47 “Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the Master places over His household to give them their food in time/season? It will be good for that servant whose Master finds him doing so when he returns. I tell you the truth, He will put him in charge of all His possessions.”

Luke 12:45-47 “But suppose the servant says to himself, 'My Master is taking a long time in coming,' and he then begins to beat the menservants and maidservants and to eat and drink and get drunk. The Master of that servant will come on a day when he does not expect Him and at an hour he is not aware of. He will cut him to asunder and assign him a place with the unfaithful. That servant who knows his Master's will and does not get ready or does not do what his Master wants will receive many lashes.”

Not so with you. Instead, whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.

I Peter 4:10-11 “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God's grace in its various forms.
