His Intended
Ephesians 3:10-11,21 “His intent was that now, through the church/ekklesia/edah, the manifold/multifarious wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers/sovereignties and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to his eternal purpose which he accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord. … to Him be glory in the church/ekklesia/edah and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, from age to age! Amen.”
Acts 2:42-47 “Now they were persevering in the apostles' teaching and in fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers. Everyone was filled with awe/great fear, and many wonders and miraculous signs were done through the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. Selling/disposing their possessions/properties and goods/acquisitions, they divided them to all and gave to anyone as he had need. Every day they continued to meet together in one accord in the temple courts, besides breaking bread in their homes and eating together with gladness/exultation and simplicity of heart, praising God and enjoying the favor of the whole people. Now the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved in that place.”
I Corinthians 14:1-40
II Corinthians 8:1-8 “And now, brothers, we want you to know about the grace/gifts that God has given the Macedonian churches/ekklesias. Out of the most severe trial/affliction, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity. For I testify that they gave as much as they were able, and even beyond their ability, of their own accord, they urgently pleaded with us for the privilege of sharing in this service to the saints. And they did not do as we expected, but they gave themselves first to the Lord and then to us in keeping with God's will. So we urged Titus, as he had undertook before, to bring also to completion this act of grace/giving on your part. But just as you excel in everything -- in faith, in word/speech, in knowledge, in all diligence/earnestness and in your love for us -- see that you also excel in this grace of grace/giving. I am not commanding you, but I want to test the sincerity of your love by/through comparing it with the earnestness of others.”
I Corinthians 16:1-4 “Now about the collection for the saints (God's people): Do what I told the Galatian churches/ekklesias to do. On the first day of every week, each one of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income, saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made. Then, when I arrive, I will give letters attesting of the men you would send, and send them with your grace/gift to Jerusalem. If it seems advisable (worth while) for me to go also, they will accompany me.”
Ephesians 4:2-16 “With all humility and gentleness/meekness; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit through/with the bond of peace: one body and one Spirit -- just as you were called to one hope/expectation when you were called -- one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all. Now to each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it. This is why it says: When He ascended on high, He led captives in His train and gave gifts to men. (What does He ascended mean except that he also descended to the lower, earthly regions. He who descended is the very One who ascended higher than all the heavens, in order to fill/complete all.) It was He who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be shepherds and teachers, to adjust/prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness/complement of Christ. Then we will/ought no longer be infants/minors, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching and by the cunning and craftiness of men in their systematizing of deception. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow up into Him who is the Head, that is, Christ. From Him the whole body, joined and held together by every assimilation of the supply, grows and builds itself up in love.”
Acts 13:1-3 “To accord with the church/ekklesia/edah/cahal at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (Herod the tetrarch's foster brother) and Saul. While they were worshiping the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said, By all means set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them. So after they had fasted and prayed, they placed their hands on them and sent them off.”
I Thessalonians 1:2-10 “We are thanking God always concerning you all, making mention of you in our prayers, unintermittingly remembering your work of faith and toil of love and endurance of expectation of our Lord Jesus Christ, in front of our God and Father, having perceived, brethren beloved by God, your choice, for the evangel of our God did not come to you in word only, but in power also, and in Holy Spirit and much assurance, according as you are aware, such we became among you, because of you, and you became imitators of us and of the Lord, receiving the word in much affliction with joy of Holy Spirit, so that you become models to all the believers in Macedonia and in Achaia: The Lord's word/message rang out from you not only in Macedonia and Achaia -- your faith in God has become known everywhere, therefore we do not need to say anything about it, for they themselves report what kind of reception you gave us: They tell how you turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God, and to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead -- Jesus, who rescues us from the coming wrath.”
Ephesians 5:23-24 “For the husband is the head of the wife even as Christ is the head of the church/ekklesia/edah, His body, of which He is the Savior. Now as the church/ekklesia/edah submits to Christ, so also the wives should submit to their husbands in everything.”
