How Fast ?

"To fast turns our heart
toward Almighty God,
while acutely exposing
weakness in flesh."

PURPOSE To Fast:

Isaiah 58:3-10	To loose the bonds of wickedness.
	To undo heavy burdens.
	Freedom for the oppressed.
	To feed the hungry.
	To bring in the poor/homeless.
	Open recognition/empathy for others from your own weakness.
Nehemiah 1	Sorrow at God's Judgment.
PROCEED With The Fast:
Zechariah 7:5	Direct your fast toward God.
Matthew 6:16-18	Maintain your best demeanor/appearance.
Isaiah 58:3,4	Shun pleasure, excess, exploitation, strife, debate, evil.
FAST Reviews:
I Kings 21:25-29	Fasting & prayer allied with service to God;
Daniel 9:3; Joel 1:14; 2:12	waiting on Him,
Luke 2:37; Acts 13:2; 14:23	supplication, repentance.
Psalm 35:13; Ezra 8:21-23	"I humbled myself with fasting"
Judges 20:26; I Samuel 7:6	All Israel.
II Chronicles 20:3; Jeremiah 36:9	All Judah.
Jonah 3:5	All Nineveh.
