For the wage/ration is death, yet the gracious gift of God is eternal life in/through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

For, as in the case of a will/covenant, the agreement is only valid after death. While the testator lives, a will/covenant has no legal power. And indeed we find that even the first agreement of God's will was not put into force without the shedding of blood… This is the blood of the agreement God makes/directs for/toward you. Jesus answered and said, Do not murmur with one another… I am the bread of life. Your forefathers ate manna in the desert/wilderness, and they died… The bread which I give you is My own flesh, and I shall give it for the sake of the life of the world. This led to a fight among the Jews, some of them saying, How can this man give us his flesh to eat? So Jesus said to them, Unless you do eat the body of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no eternal life in yourselves. The man who eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up when the last day comes. For my body is true food, and my blood is true drink. …Many of his disciples heard him say these things and commented, This is a hard teaching indeed; who can hear it?

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds/comprehension because of your evil behavior. But now He has reconciled you by His body of flesh through death to present you holy in His sight, to present you without blemish, flawless and unimpeachable in His sight, since surely you are persisting in the faith, established and firm, not moved from the hope/expectation held out in/of the gospel…”
